Nowadays, buyers have more choices than ever before when it comes to buying a home in Mississauga. From condos, townhomes, link homes, semi-detached or detached homes, our community offers a range of home types for real estate buyers.
Choosing the right type of home for you or your family is very important. You want to select a property that offers a workable floor plan, ample square footage and enough bedrooms and bathrooms to suit your lifestyle. There are other factors to consider too, like location, lot size, income or rental potential, amenities and more. Each homebuyer has unique needs.
That’s where a realtor can help. We can uncover your wants and needs to recommend suitable housing options that fit your budget, location and wish list.
To help get you started on your home search, here is a list of the most popular housing types in Mississauga:
Single-Family Detached
As the name implies, single-family detached homes are their own entity and have their own lot. Styles range from house to house, but single-storey bungalows, side- or back-splits and two-storey homes are the most common.
Semi-Detached or Linked
These types of homes often feature two houses that share or are linked by a common wall.
Duplex
A duplex is a building zoned for two families.
Townhome
Also known as a terrace or row house, townhomes typically feature a common style and are joined together in a row. Many units share walls with neighbours on both sides unless located on an end unit.
Condos
With a condo, you’ll own 100% of your unit but will share common areas, including the building’s plumbing, electrical systems, hallways, elevators and amenities. On top of mortgage and property taxes, condo owners also pay a monthly fee to operate and maintain these common areas.
