Medical and Safety Services Offered in Mississauga Retirement Communities
Thursday Oct 19th, 2017
One of the greatest benefits of living in a retirement community is the access to on-site health and safety services. However, different communities will offer different amenities, so it’s important to ask what’s included in your monthly rental costs or living package.
Here are some common services that you can expect to find in most Mississauga retirement communities:
- On-site doctor or a doctor who visits residents regularly
- On-site nursing staff
- On-site pharmacy or nearby pharmacy with delivery service
- Exercise programs with access to a personal trainer
- Physiotherapy
- Recuperative programs
- Dietary programs
- Hairdressing
- Ongoing medical supervision and administration
- Oxygen assistance
- Physical therapy
Some communities even offer wellness programs centered around preventative care. These programs may include access to a full nursing team, physiotherapists and personal trainers who work one-on-one with residents to maintain and develop their balance, core, cardio and strength – all of which are critical to leading a healthier, fuller lifestyle.
As for safety, most Mississauga retirement homes have suite call bell systems and emergency phone systems. Some even have 24/7 security monitoring to ensure a sense of security around the clock.
