Lakeview stretches from just north of the QEW at Queensway down to Lake Ontario. It boasts easy access to Toronto and borders the communities of Mineola and Port Credit.
The area has a long, deep-rooted history. In fact, in the 1800s, Lakeview consisted of family owned farms, followed by a military flying school that was established in 1915. During World War II, Lakeview also housed soldiers and a large facility for creating weapons for the war effort. In the 1950s, the suburban expansion began with Applewood Acres and Orchard Heights. Lakeview has also been known for the coal fire generating plant that took up much of the waterfront.
Today, Lakeview is experiencing a renaissance. Due to a growing population and rising property values close to the lake, the area is in high demand for buyers looking to renovate homes. The community has a lot of character with classic bungalows to creative sidesplits, 1 1/2 storeys, as well as some more traditional 2-storey homes.
